IN THE NEWS: More details have surfaced in the story of Qatari diplomat Mohammed Al-Madadi. He was apparently on his way to meet Ali Al-Marri, an imprisoned Al-Qaeda sleeper agent who is serving eight years in prison. IN THE NEWS: U.S. fighter jets were reportedly scrambled after a Qatari diplomat was wrestled down by air-marshals when he allegedly told them, “I’m lighting my shoes on fire.” He was caught smoking in a plane lavatory when he offered the alternate explanation to the marshals, which prompted a national security scare.
