IN THE NEWS: Once again, criticism of the Ground Zero Mosque in New York City emerges. Blogger Pamela Gellar of the self-proclaimed “human rights” and “religious liberty” group, “Stop the Islamicization of America,” helped organize a June 6th protest against the $100 million, 13-story community center, funded by the Cordoba Initiative and the American Society for Muslim Advancement, organizations that seek to advance dialogue and understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims in the West. The protest was an attempt to prevent mosque supporters, like Feisal Abdul Raouf, from imposing Sharia (which the group considers to be “Islamic supremacism”) on America.

Estimates of the number of protesters range between 200 and 5000 people.
