A 73-page report published last week, “‘They Took Me and Told Me Nothing’: Female Genital Mutilation in Iraqi Kurdistan,” documents the experiences of young girls and women who undergo female genital mutilation against a backdrop of conflicting messages from some religious leaders and healthcare professionals about the practice’s legitimacy and safety.
IN THE NEWS: The Council on American-Islamic Relations argued last week that Pamela Geller be cut from the Tennessee Tea Party Convention in Gatlinburg over her views on Muslims.
